My Review: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley.
The first thing I notice from this book is that it was horribly formatted for my Nook. In order to read it, you have to skip a line every time. And the line you skip is a continuation of another line. Where they all are supposed to be read in relation to one another is anyone's guess. This made it very frustrating to try to read the backgrounds of the recipes. The formatting for the recipes themselves are not much better, and prove to be very frustrating as well.
I am not a cook. I don't like cooking, and I hate prep. That's why I want my slow-cooker to do most of the work for me while I'm off doing more important things, like working, reading, taking care of my kids or writing reviews. The prep time for these recipes was on average, about 45 minutes. That's about 15 minutes longer than I want to be in the kitchen cooking at all.
Also some of the ingredients are not ingredients that I have hanging out in my kitchen, so I would have to make a special trip to the store to acquire them. Perhaps if I was having a special group of people over to my house, it would be useful, but I'm not a host-type person.
This book disappointed me, I was hoping for more every-day type recipes.
