My review: I put this book down in the middle of reading it because I was geting close to deadlines on other books that I had to read. I shouldn't have, because it really put the brakes on the continuity of the story as I read it. The book was still really good, and I enjoyed the romance, I loved the build-up of it.
Some authors just know how to do a para-mating...Caris Roane is definitely one of them. While the two main characters are obviously soul-mates, and it is introduced to us towards the end of the last book, the love isn't there immediately. There's a slow buildup to it, and its appreciated.
I enjoyed the action throughout the entire book, and I most especially enjoyed how she introduced the idea that the Militia Warriors could gradually evolve into Warriors of the Blood. I'm hoping that we see more of this in the coming books.
