Synopsis: Imagine an island that offered a couple an erotic fantasy for their benchmark 40th Birthday. And if this milestone was the one time to step out on a ledge and take a risk, would they dare participate in a multiple partner sexual encounter?

When Don Nightengale, a budding hotelier, husband and father, successfully gambled the answer an astounding yes and opened a mysterious sex-fueled cabaret in the catacombs of an ancient slave castle in Cuba, his former life as a suburban Long Island insurance executive ended. Seeking a taste of his carefully crafted masquerade, revelers from around the globe arrived in droves. But Don couldn't have his cake and eat and it too. To fulfill his dream of building the world’s most spectacular resort, he partnered with men he ordinarily would not have and convinced his wife that this was the road to success and happiness. Instead of maintaining his hotel as a secret gem, he made a decision that some would later say was a deal with the devil.

Don offered his guests what he claimed to be a guarantee by God that there would be no consequences for their actions.

That guarantee, even God could not deliver.

My Review: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I've never had a book make me feel dirty before. And not dirty in a good way, dirty in a "I want to take a shower and scrub two layers of skin off" type way. This book has succeeded like no other. That's why I'm give it four stars, purely for the author's ability to make me feel this way. There is no denying that is a gift for words, for words are not only made to make us feel warm and fuzzy, but also to make us feel like we just walked through toxic sludge.
Reading this book was like watching a train wreck, or an episode of Jerry Springer, I just couldn't put it down, and not in a good way. We watch helplessly as the Don and his wife, Carrie embark on a threesome, and watch as their life implodes through the pages with that one act.
I am not making any assumptions on relationships based on this book, nor am I making any morality judgements. However, this book shows very clearly that there are consequences to every action, and you had better think through every life altering decision you make. It broke my heart to watch the devolving of what was a successful, loving marriage with two children into the hell that it ended up into.
